Frank Fahrenkopf stepping down from AGA post in June

It has recently been announced that Frank Fahrenkopf, former Chariman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) is stepping down from his position as President and CEO of the American Gaming Association in June.

He has led the AGA since it’s inception in 1995 and plans for his departure have been in place for at least a year.

In a statement, he said,

I have enjoyed my time at the helm of this incredible organization and am proud to have represented an industry that provides tens of millions of men and women with the best entertainment value in the world. It has been a true honor to work with so many passionate and innovative leaders as we have moved the industry forward during the past 17 ½ years.

Fahrenkopf has strong roots in Nevada.  After graduating from law school, Fahrenkopf worked as an associate at the Reno law firm of Breen and Young.

He left in 1967 to become a partner in another Reno Law firm, Sanford, Sanford, Fahrenkopf, and Mousel.

He remained a partner there until 1975, when he founded Fahrenkopf, Mortimer, Sourwine, Mousel and Sloane. That firm attracted major clients including hotels, casinos and construction companies

Fahrenkopf also taught criminal law at the University of Nevada.

The 73-years-young experienced executive worked on the establishment of the National Center for Responsible Gaming as well as the development and growth of the Global Gaming Expo trade shows.

He will likely remain as a consultant for the AGA through year’s end until a replacement is found.
